No matter how hard you try, you somehow find yourself wishing for more space on your kitchen shelves and in the drawers. And yes, organizing everything in the kitchen can be quite a challenge. It all stems from the simplest problem, which is that most of the utensils and dishes get regularly used and need to be re-organized all the time.
Most people gladly outsource these kinds of tasks, so they hire a Bay Terrace house cleaning company or maid service that does all the work for them. If you’re one of the few that likes to know specific cleaning tips on how to keep marble surfaces in good condition, how to achieve speckless glass surfaces, or how to make your toilet look brand new, this will be another great addition to your cleaning knowledge. Read on!
There are many ways that you can go about it, but there is one universal rule when it comes to kitchen cleaning – everything must go.
What this means is that you should always start by removing everything from the kitchen that you can. Throw away all the unnecessary things or find a new place for them. We’re all guilty of keeping different stuff in unusual places simply because it’s convenient. But if you’re trying to clean, you can’t just leave them anywhere.
The next thing that you should do is to remove everything from the drawers and shelves. Preferably use cardboard boxes or any other containers to store them in. It will be a lot easier for you later on since all of the similar things will be in the same container. This will save you a lot of trouble once you get to organizing and putting everything back in its place.
You can start by doing some light preparatory cleaning just to get the excess dust or to remove any misplaced receipts that may have been forgotten in some of the drawers. It’s an important step that will make the next part of the cleaning that much faster.
The next step in kitchen cleaning would be to decide on the type of cleaner you’re going to use. You can always go for store-bought products, which are readily available. Or you can go with your own homemade mixture that will, in most cases, work just as well.
The most commonly used DIY mixes are:
Mix one part mild dish soap, two parts water, and add a little bit of white vinegar to the mixture. This is a really good agent when it comes to dust, dirt, and regular grime that can build up in the corners of the drawers or on the edges of the shelves.
Simply apply the mix however you want (you can even use a spray bottle), and wipe it off with a soft cloth.
Add one part baking soda and two parts water, and mix it in a bowl. This cleaning agent is really good at tackling dirt and grime on flat surfaces. You can use it to clean your kitchen countertops or shelves. You can even use it on the metal parts of your sink, since it contains baking soda which is somewhat abrasive and can get rid of lighter water stains and discolorations caused by a dish soap residue.
